What Makes Sound Play Events Special

Every Sound Play event is a moment where families slow down, connect, and rediscover how joyful music can be.

Whether it’s a cozy indoor jam or a full-on community celebration, each gathering carries the same spirit that fills our classrooms—warmth, laughter, and shared rhythm.

Why families love them:

Live music that feels alive. Every event features real instruments, live singing, and interactive play that keeps kids engaged and grown-ups smiling.

Designed for every age. Babies bounce, toddlers dance, big kids drum—everyone participates at their own level.

Connection at the center. Parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends are all part of the circle.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1.  How long is the class?

Each Family Jam class is 45 minutes long—just enough time to spark joy, build confidence, and create meaningful musical moments without overwhelming young children. It’s short enough to fit into your week easily, but long enough to make a lasting impact.

FAQ image

2.  What if my child doesn’t sit still?

They’re not expected to! Our classes are designed for wiggles, big feelings, and curious bodies. Movement is part of the learning process. When children are free to explore, they engage more deeply and grow more confident. We follow their lead—and celebrate it.

FAQ image

3. What if my child doesn’t sing or participate?

That’s totally normal. Some children jump right in; others hang back and take it all in. There’s no pressure to perform. Over time, you’ll see your child begin to participate in ways that feel natural and joyful for them.

FAQ image

4. Is my child too young?

Nope! Babies are welcome from birth. Early exposure to music supports brain development, bonding, and emotional growth. Whether your child is bouncing, clapping, crawling, or cuddling, they’re participating just by being there.

FAQ image

5. Can I bring my older child if school is closed?

Yes! Older siblings are welcome to tag along on holidays, snow days, or during school breaks. We love having extra helping hands—and your younger child will love sharing the experience with their big sibling.

FAQ image

6. Can other family members participate too?

Yes! Family Jam is truly for your whole family. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other special people are welcome to join anytime—whether they’re bringing your child or just visiting for fun. No need to check in or ask first. Just come. The more, the merrier!

FAQ image

7. Can adults sit in chairs if they need to?

Absolutely. While most families sit on the floor to move and play together, we understand that’s not comfortable for everyone. Chairs are always available for anyone who needs one—just grab a seat and join the fun however you can.

FAQ image

8. Can I try a class before I commit?

Yes! We offer trial classes if you’d like to test the waters first. And if you enroll and later find it’s not the right fit, you’re covered by our Happiness Guarantee—we’ll refund the unused portion of your tuition. Easy, no stress.

FAQ image

9. What if I miss a class?

We offer unlimited makeups that you can use at any time, in any location—even in future semesters. Our online makeup scheduler makes it super easy to find a time that works for your family. No pressure, no lost value.

FAQ image

10. What if I just want to drop in occasionally?

You can! Drop-ins are $30 and available whenever there’s space in a class. It’s a simple way to try things out or join when your schedule allows. Just book your spot online in advance.

FAQ image

11. How often am I billed?

Just once per semester—no monthly billing, no automatic charges. You’ll pay for the full semester when you register (or a prorated amount if joining mid-semester). It’s straightforward, predictable, and done.

FAQ image

12. Do I need to bring anything?

Nope! We’ve got you covered with all the instruments and materials you’ll need. Just bring yourselves—ready to sing, move, and connect.

FAQ image

13. What if I’m not musical?

That’s actually perfect. You don’t need any musical experience to join. When your child sees you enjoying music, they feel safe and inspired to do the same. This class isn’t about “performing”—it’s about connection, joy, and shared experiences.

FAQ image

14. Do you offer any financial support for families?

Yes. Through our Sound Play scholarship fund, we offer discounts or sliding-scale tuition for families receiving WIC benefits, Early Intervention services, or who are fostering children. We believe every family deserves access to joyful music-making. Reach out—we’ll make it work for you.
